In the Community

On Halloween night, October 31st 2008, Boss Promotions held its 9th Annual Beaches Halloween Haunted Graveyard in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Over the past 9 years, the event has seen remarkable growth and popularity which has led to the raising of tens of thousands of dollars for the Fight to Cure Juvenile Diabetes.  Each year, the Haunted Graveyard brings together the community for a night of spooky fun for all.   Parents and their children come from all over Toronto annually to take in the scary sights and sounds of the Halloween event.  Local sponsors and volunteers donate their time and money to help make the Haunted Graveyard one of the most widely covered events on Halloween night in the city.  This year’s event, more so than any previous year, received widespread media coverage thanks to outlets such as City TV, Breakfast Television, CP24, CTV and local community newspapers.  Awareness for the Fight for a Cure was brought into people’s homes all across Toronto and Southern Ontario.  The exposure experienced is invaluable for the JDRF, and helped the event raise so much money.  The Haunted Graveyard saw more than 2000 trick or treaters and parents come through its gates while the entire street had to be shut down by police to ensure safety for all.  Pulling an event of this size together would not have been possible without the tremendous community involvement and support from local sponsors.   It is truly amazing what we all can accomplish bringing us one step closer to Finding a Cure.
